This Is a view of the village of Vernazza, one of The five beautiful towns that make up the Cinque Terre.
Per Wikipedia, " "The Five Lands" is composed of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site."
It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful experiences we have ever enjoyed.
The best way to see the Cinque Terre, is to stay in La Spezia... And take the train to the Cinque Terre...The first town is eight minutes from La Spezia, Don't even think about seeing this beautiful place my car.
There is a two day pass, including train travel, for €19...The official Cinque Terre site.
This was the lady that owned the apartment that we stayed in, convenient to the bus, the train and grocery stores...You could not ask for a better place to stay.
Contact Paola, at Residenza del Cavaliere...You will thank us, I guarantee.
Until the trains came along, the only way to get from village to village was to walk, and the walk is absolutely spectacular... We called it the WOW trail, At every turn you said WOW.
Due to a mudslide in 2011 two of the trails were closed, they should be fixed soon, We took the hike between Monterosso and Vernazza, and Vernazza and Corniglia...One each day.
We visited all the villages by train... Simply spectacular.
I do not say that lightly... But Robert Louis Stevenson once said that the most beautiful meeting of land and sea is at Pebble Beach California...
We have been to Pebble Beach many times and it is beautiful... But I doubt Mr. Stevenson ever saw the Cinque Terre.
Thanks for reading Visiting Cinque Terre, One of the most beautiful places on this earth.
