Used Park Models...A very good way of living cheaplyNew park model homes cost from $20,000 to $50,000. The total price when you include your land lease (sometimes called a park fee...what you pay monthly) depends upon the location of the park. No way around location, location, location. That basic law of real estate still applies...to park models as well. But if you don't have $40,000 , all is not lost. Nice used park models can be had for less than $20,000 in very nice parks. Remember park models are usually mobile only once in their lives. They are towed from the factory, you will be behind one if you are in a hurry, to the park model park. Once in place that's usually where they stay. This an opportunity for you if your budget tells you that you that you can only afford $5,000 to $15,000 for a home. Heres where a used unit comes into play. Park model communities at least in Arizona have a senior population. If circumstances such as illness, death, or moving back with the kids happens, there is an opportunity to obtain a park model cheaply. That is exactly what happened to my freinds from Oregon who bought a park model for $15,000 last November. The park sold their home for a widow.  Here is an
example of what $12,000 will buy...including furniture.
The model was in good shape, we made it spiffy...so can you. For less than $1,000 (the labor was free...about what it was worth) the two couples pulled all the old carpet out, repainted the walls throughout, then put down a new wood floor (the interlocking strip kind). It looks great. So when you look at a pre-owned park model remember an ugly or worn carpet can be easily replaced and new paint makes any room brighten up. All of this done in 5 days by 4 folks over 55. You can do it also. Conclusion Used park models make it easier than ever to enjoy this great way of living cheap. Just grab your friends, who work cheap, do a lettle demo, new paint and floor and you a nice new home. Enjoy |
