MY WIFE AND I ARE IN OUR MID 50'S. WE BOUGHT A HOME IN SIERRA VISTA,AZ IN 2004. WE FURNISHED IT AND HAVE USED IT AS A VACATION HOME SINCE THEN.

MY WIFE RETIRED NOVEMBER OF 2008 AND IT LOOKS LIKE I WILL BE RETIRING LATER THIS YEAR. WE INVESTIGATED COST OF LIVING VERSE THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT (WORKED AND LIVED ALL OUR LIVES).

NO BRAINER. THE MONTHLY DOLLAR SAVINGS IN PROPERTY TAX, HEALTHCARE INSURANCE, UTILITY RATES, NOT TO MENTION A VERY MODERATE CLIMATE EASILY ADD UP TO OVER $700.00 A MONTH IN SAVINGS.

THIS SAVINGS DOESN'T EVEN INCLUDE THE SOCIAL SECURITY EXEMPTION THAT AZ STATE INCOME TAX AFFORDS. CT TAXES SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. THIS WOULD EQUATE TO AN ADDITIONAL SAVINGS OF $135.00 A MONTH WHEN WE BOTH REACH AGE 62 ($3000 A MONTH COMBINED SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFIT TAXED @ 4.5%).

WE TRAVELED THE COUNTRY ON VACATIONS AND BUSINESS TRIPS SINCE 1990 TRYING TO FIND THE BEST LOCATION FOR EARLY RETIREMENT.
OUR CONCLUSION WAS SIERRA VISTA. AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE IN WINTER MID 50'S WITH AVERAGE LOW'S MID 30'S. WHILE SUMMER AVERAGE HIGH'S IN LOW 90'S AND AVERAGE LOW'S MID 60'S. LOVE THE DRY HEAT. GREAT FOR ALL MY ACHES AND PAINS.

WE HAVE MOUNTAIN VIEWS WITH SNOW 4 TO 5 MONTHS A YEAR. WE REALLY LOVE TO SEE THE SNOW WITHOUT HAVING TO DEAL WITH IT! MANY STORES AND SUPERMARKETS INCLUDING WALMART, TARGET, HOME DEPOT, SAFEWAY, FOOD CITY, FRY, LOWES, SHOPPING MALL (SEARS,DILLARD'S).......

HALF HOUR DRIVE TO NACO, MEXICO FOR AFFORDABLE DENTAL MAINTENANCE.
AZ HERE WE COME. GOOD BYE CT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
