The Rogue Valley, Southernmost part of Oregon along I-5 and W. of the Cascades is unique to all of Oregon. It has 1/2 the rainfall of the Willamette Valley (Eugene, Portland, Salem,) much milder winters (it's 30 miles N. of California) has low humidity and very little snow.
Lots of shopping with all of the big box stores and a regional mall, and of course no sales tax.
Elevation is around 1200 feet. You still have a full view of the Cascade Mountains.
